We’ve got to breakdown this ‘Vision Quest’ cast!

Vision Quest will be here before you know it and the list of names attached to the Marvel Studios series is pretty stacked! Like…REALLY stacked.

Lately, social media has been buzzing as Joe Locke and Ruaridh Mollica were seen together on social media. The Franchise actor was cast in Vision Quest a while ago, and that sparked people thinking about all the different names who have signed on for the upcoming MCU series.

Ahead of that Disney+ debut, we thought it would be good to give you a quick refresher on who everyone is playing in Vision Quest. With such a packed cast, it might be good to lay eyes on this impressive list of actors. MCU favorites sit alongside general newcomers in the spiritual sequel to both WandaVision and Agatha All Along. So, come on folks, let’s run-down everyone who’s been cast in Vision Quest so far and who they’re likely playing!

James Spader (Ultron)

(Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures)

This is a big one, possibly the biggest one on our list! The show might be named Vision Quest, but let’s be real, they might as well have subtitled the show “The Ultron Reintroduction Tour.” Last time we saw Spader in the MCU, he wasn’t looking so hot after getting his butt handed to him by the Avengers and a newly-birthed Vision.

Now, with Paul Bettany (we’ll get to him, don’t you worry!) returning as his fan-favorite Marvel character in the series, his dear old Dad was bound to make an appearance. In the years since Avengers: Age of Ultron, the movie has become something of a comfort movie for a lot of MCU fans out there. They miss the days of our heroes sitting around and discussing important topics like, “If Captain America is Worthy?”

In an effort to get back to that, (and let’s be real, to tease some more Ultron villainy down the road), Ultron struts back into frame for Vision Quest. If Bettany’s ivory computer is putting his memories back together, then it only makes sense that his origins would come into play at some point. That means Spader’s iconic tones are on-deck for an appearance on Disney+, and fans are going to eat that right up!

Paul Bettany (White Vision)

(Disney+)

Come on, his name’s in the title! Vision returns after fleeing into the woods at the end of WandaVision.  While we still think about the Ship of Theseus sometimes, it’s important to remember that our boy had a ton of soul searching to do at the end of that MCU show. He’s not exactly the machine we used to know, but he might be close enough? All of this internal struggle will probably make for good drama in the format of this Disney Plus series.

A lot has been made about all of the members of the larger Maximoff/Vision family after one division. Billy got his day in the sun during Agatha All Along. Of course, Katheryn Hahn’s witch got to revel in all of her charming evil during that series too.  But, the truth of the matter is we haven’t seen Bettany or Elizabeth Olsen since those halcyon days of 2021. It’ll be good to check up on Vision and see how he’s adjusting to life outside of Westview.

With Vision getting some focus in WandaVision, he’s still definitely the undercard to the Scarlet Witch in that series. What does family mean for someone who’s starting over? Will we see Elizabeth Olsen return at long last? What about the other Maximoff twin? Vision’s poised to help us figure this all out together.

Emily Hampshire (E.D.I.T.H.)

Peter Parker/Spider-Man wears Tony Stark/Iron Man's glasses in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Another fine trip into the MCU past here with Emily Hampshire playing E.D.I.T.H. (She was voiced by Dawn Michelle King in the previous appearance.) Last time we heard E.D.I.T.H., she was talking to our boy Peter Parker in the late moments of Spider-Man: Far From Home. That whole movie’s plot hinged on getting back the artificial intelligence after it fell into the hands of Mysterio. (A still-hysterical turn from Jake Gyllenhaal right there!)

Now, the Department of Damage Control has possession of the ascended smart glasses. E.D.I.T.H. used to be plugged into all the tech over at STARK Industries. As one of the AI assistants that Tony Stark used to order his life and choreograph the Avengers missions, it would make a ton of sense for her to pop-up again here.

After all, “Even Dead I’m The Hero” would apply to Vision as well? He’s been through a rebirth multiple times in the MCU and comes out the other side ready to help. Although, will that be the case this time around?

T’Nia Miller (Rumor: Jocasta)

This one is a bit of a doozy as Miller’s casting ignited a firestorm of speculation on social media. Daniel RPK and other sources indicated that she would be playing Jocasta, a major player in the comics for both The Avengers and Ultron. This would be very interesting for the larger series because it signals that Spader’s villain will be sharing a lot of the spotlight with Bettany.

Jocasta is Ultron’s wife in multiple Marvel stories, and she even fights alongside the Avengers a couple of times. Having her in the mix clouds exactly how evil these machines will be in Vision Quest. All the talk of the character making an MCU debut in Vision Quest immediately sparked speculation that she’s going to be the villain of the piece though.

Orla Brady (Rumor: F.R.I.D.A.Y.)

FRIDAY in the MCU, Credit: Marvel Studios

Okay, so Daniel RPK  originally had Kerry Condon coming back for this role at first. But, at a Star Trek panel featuring Vision Quest showrunner Terry Matalas, Brady revealed that she’d been working with Marvel on the show. You know the showrunner for this series loves Trek actors, so this makes a lot of sense.

F.R.I.D.A.Y. would basically have to be in this show, as the AI replaced Jarvis in Tony Stark’s suit after Age of Ultron. Collider reported Brady calling her time with Marvel a “wonderfully collaborative experience.” So, there’s room for optimism here, and apparently, a whole lot of AI/robots!

Todd Stashwick (Rumor: Paladin)

From that same Star Trek tree, Todd Stashwick is one of our big antagonists for Vision Quest. He’s worked with Matalas in the past, and his inclusion here raised some eyebrows when it was reported initially. But, it makes sense if we just follow ol’ Viz’s experience from WandaVision. There was always going to be some sort of shadowy force tailing him after he burned rubber out of Westview.

Paladin is a mercenary character in Marvel Comics. The government is probably contracting Stashwick’s character to retrieve their asset. After all, they are the ones that released White Vision during the final episodes of WandaVision. He flew into battle to take down the “fake” version of the hero that Wanda Maximoff had made within the Hex. So, time to collect and use Vision for whatever threats are coming up against the DoDC.

Ruaridh Mollica (Rumor: Tommy Maximoff)

This is the most bubbling source of rumor around Vision Quest right now. Tommy Maximov has been M.I.A. since WandaVision‘s conclusion. There was a brief mention and snippets of a young man that could be Tommy in Agatha All Along. But, we still don’t have confirmation from Marvel itself about who Mollica is playing in this series.

All of those images of the actor palling around with Joe Locke sincerely encourage the idea that he’s playing the other Maximoff twin. We’ll have to wait and find out, but things are looking encouraging for a Maximoff family reunion down the line. Some Marvel fans were wondering if we would get Vision’s other family in this show, and that’s looking pretty unlikely! But, now you know who’s playing who in the upcoming Vision Quest series.
