The Glasgow-themed cafe you can find in the middle of Japan

From cutting-edge technology to sushi, Japan does an incredible effort of celebrating the things it loves.

And believe it or not, we can add Glasgow to the list of things that the Japanese have a fondness for.

That's because we've found a themed restaurant which celebrates our Dear Green Place right in the centre of Japan.

Glasgow Shokudou is based in the city of Osaka in the Kansai region of the East Asian country, and goes all out to reinforce its love for the home of Irn Bru and fried pizza.

It's walls are adorned with records from some of the city's greatest musical exports, from The Jesus and Mary Chain and Franz Ferdinand to Teenage Fanclub and BMX Bandits.

Glasgow Live reached out to the owners via their Facebook page, and they told us: "Our restaurant was named after Glasgow. My friend and I run it.

"Both of us like music and records and we love bands from Glasgow such as Orange Juice, The Pastels, Teenage Fanclub and Aztec Camera.  We hope music lovers enjoy drinking and talking about their favourite music. The restaurant opened to attract such people."

So now you know where to go if you're over in Osaka and you're feeling a bit homesick!
