We tried the new LFC x Converse trainers and they were so comfortable

Popular brand Converse has collaborated with Liverpool FC in a new launch of products.

Converse is a Nike-owned brand that has been around for over 115 years, its most notable range of footwear, the 'Chuck Taylor' collection has played a strong part in the fashion industry for decades. Now, LFC fans can get their hands on a uniquely designed 'YNWA' pair - but they'll need to be quick.

The Liverpool FC retail account @LFCRetail teased the release which was later retweeted by the official LFC Twitter page. It soon racked up plenty of likes and responses from eager fans keen to snap up a pair.

We took a trip to the LFC store in Liverpool ONE to see the new collection in all its glory. Shoppers have already been queuing online to bag the £100 Converse x LFC Chuck 70, and we managed to get a first look at them in the flesh.

The full product description reads: “Converse and Liverpool FC come together in this limited-edition collection that celebrates the club’s history and champions its future. Inspired by the banners and scarves waved on matchday, the Converse x LFC Chuck 70 is covered with Liver birds, Sea Holly, "YNWA" (You'll Never Walk Alone), and more to pay tribute to Liverpool’s beating heart—its supporters. Style. Creativity. Art. This is Anfield.”

The shoes

The converse come in either a black design or an 'oat milk' shade. The black design features a high-top design with an upper canvas section.

In terms of aesthetics, the design of the black converse was bold, but not too bold. Although the design may not be for everyone, it wasn’t too garish, so they wouldn’t be too difficult to style with other outfits.

We tried on the shoes in the store and can confirm that they were incredibly comfortable. This is most likely because the converse features an OrthoLite cushioning to help provide comfort.

There really is nothing worse than wearing a pair of shoes and being in pain throughout the day because they’re so uncomfortable. After having a little walk around in these shoes, we can confirm - they basically felt like walking on air.

The shoes weren’t too tight and felt pretty roomy inside which was a nice touch. To top it all off, they were soft and gentle on the feet, making them a great option for a comfortable and casual outfit.

The verdict

We were really impressed with the comfort of the shoes, and although aesthetically the design might not be for everyone, it’s perfect for LFC fans that want to give a subtle nod to the club.

The oat milk design may be easier to pair with outfits, but if you want that bold ‘YNWA’ pattern then the Converse x LFC Chuck 70 trainers are the best option.
