We tried Howth Sunset Cruise and were completely blown away

Howth Sunset Cruises are perhaps one of the most tranquil evening experiences you can have in Dublin, taking you out on the water for unbeatable views of Howth, close-ups with the adorable marine life and of course, breath-taking sunset scenes.

The sunset cruises were introduced last summer while international travel was still rather restricted, showing Dubs the magic that can be experienced right on their door step.

The experience is run by Howth Cliff Cruises, a family-run company which also offers trips to Ireland's Eye and daytime cruises around the cliffs of Howth.

Anne, who is the niece of company owner Mark, spoke to Dublin Live about the sunset cruises, how it began and what people can expect.

She revealed: "It was thanks to TikTok that the sunset cruises took off. We launched it in June last year. Somebody who was on the cruise made a TikTok and it blew up from there.

"Last year, we would have had a lot of people from Dublin on the tours. It's a nice mix at the moment. We get a lot of young people and pairs going on dates.

"It's not something you always think of doing in Ireland. Howth in the summer months has some of the most stunning sunsets.

"Last year, we were trying to encourage people to discover what was right on their doorstep. Dublin has so much to offer other than going into town or heading to the pub. You don't need to go on a holiday abroad to see a beautiful sunset."

Recently, Howth Cliff Cruises have introduced an attractive package which sees them team up with local foodie favourite Findlater's. For €50, you can get the sunset cruise experience along with a main and dessert at Findlater's either before or after the trip.

The regular sunset cruise costs €25 per adult and €15 per child and can be booked here. For a limited time, customers can use the code DublinLive15 for a discount when booking one of the three cruises (excluding the food and drink package).
