We tried Costco's cafe and learnt exactly why everyone loves it

Liverpool is filled with so many restaurants, coffee shops and cafés, but there is one place which many cannot stop talking about.

As well as its bulk buys and low prices, Costco is also loved for its food and in particular, its cafe.

While Costco’s pizzas are a regular sight at parties, customers of the wholesale retailer can also chose to eat in its café area.

Its menus include slices of pizza, jacket potatoes, hot dogs and more.

You can even get dessert too.

We decided to head to Costco to put its cafe to the test and see what all the fuss was about.

The first thing we were met with was its huge queue. We visited at 4pm on a Friday and there was around 30 people waiting.

There are around 15 tables all of which were full but we took this as a good sign as it reaffirmed how popular it is.

Its menu is above the tills so it was easy to see what options were available.

After around 10 minutes it was our turn to order and we chose slices of BBQ Chicken pizza, a hot dog (which you can have with onions if you prefer) and a jacket potato with tuna.

The jacket potato and the hot dog were £1.50 each and the hot dog came with a free refillable drink too.

The pizza slice was £1.85 or we could have bought a whole pizza for £8.95.

Service was quick with the food was ready within five minutes.

Anyone who has had Costco pizza before will know how big just one slice is, and I struggled to finish it.

Its taste made it hard to believe it was less than £2, considering pizza takeaway companies can charge around £15 for a whole pizza half the size.

I’m usually the biggest fan of hot dogs but Costco’s tasted fresh.

The jacket potato was massive and the filling completely covered it. It didn't look the most appealing but it tasted great and made me want to try other toppings on my next visit.

So many people are talking about Costco’s cafe and after our visit it is easy to see why. Quick, cheap and great food - what more do you want?

Costco’s full cafe menu:

£1.50 Jacket potato with a choice of fillings (beans, cheese, beef chilli, tuna, chicken baconnaise)

£1.50 hot dog with free drink

£3.25 Chicken Bakes with bacon

£2.95 Cottage pie

£3.95 Double chicken fillet sandwich

£1.85 Pizza slice

£8.95 Whole pizza

£1.45 Ice cream

£1.70 Caramel fudge sundae

£1.75 Mango smoothie
