'We took our cat to the groomer and he returned completely bald - except for his face'

A woman says she was left amazed by her cat's bold new look after picking him up from the groomer, realising that his long hair had been almost completely shaved away. The only part of the moggy that wasn't shorn was his face – leaving him looking as though he was another creature wearing a cat mask as some sort of disguise.

Long-haired cat Jin Jin will usually get shaved every now and then, which helps to keep him cool and stop cat hair from getting everywhere in the house.

In previous years, Jin Jin has returned from the groomer with a lion-style cut, with the fur on his head and tail still full and mane-like. This time, however, was a different story entirely.

As previously reported by The Dodo, Jin Jin's owner Xie Qian Qian had him booked in at the groomer some months ago, however, as she ended up being unable to take him there herself, she asked a friend to drop him off instead.

Unfortunately, there appears to have been some crossed wires along the way about what sort of trim Jin Jin needed, leading to his unintentionally hilarious 'do.

When Qian went to collect Jin Jin, she was astonished to see that the only part of him that hadn't been shaved was his face, giving him the appearance of wearing a furry little mask.

Qian, who couldn't help but grin when she saw the unexpected new style, said: "I was surprised the groomer would shave him like that. I can't be blamed for it."

Although Qian's husband was initially a bit cross about the cut, he was soon laughing away too. Jin Jin, who is said to be a "very tame and good cat", also didn't seem to mind much either.

Thankfully, Jin Jin's fur has since grown back, and he's now sporting his usual style once more.
