Not a bad souvenir. Not a bad way to say 'I was there to see Wales' first World Cup goal for 64 years' in years to come.

Mason's dad Alex has been taking his son to watch Cardiff City for two years and couldn't allow a potentially once in a lifetime opportunity to slip by.

"We're out here, staying in Dubai and it's a big family affair. My old man is with me, my missus my brother and his partner so it's just a been a once in a lifetime opportunity. My dad had never seen us in A World Cup so I had to bring Mason and the memories will last a lifetime.

Alex said his phone blew up after his son's brush with fame.

"When Ben Davies missed a chance we flashed on the big screen looking shocked and people around us were telling us. And I got a few texts to say we'd made the TV. Then when Bale scored my phone literally did not stop for 12 hours. It was incredible."

And what about Mason himself, well he's basking in the limelight and has been bombarded himsefl with messages from his friends in Bridgend.

"It's unbelievable," he said. "My mates are still in school so maybe they are a bit jealous."

Her added: I think we're going to beat Iran 4-1. "
