Knowsley Safari Park has been a popular day out in Merseyside since the nature park and zoo first opened in 1971.

For decades, animal lovers has been able to get up close to some of the world's most magnificent animals at the 550-acre attraction.

But what's it actually like to work in the safari? We went behind the scenes to work a day in the life of a zoo keeper to find out.

Watch our video above to catch all the action.

The attraction has two elements, a safari drive and a foot safari, each offering a difference experience.

On the safari drive, guests can drive through a lion enclosure, where the great animals roam around the cars. Other animals on the safari drive include rhino, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and much more.

At the foot safari, everything from tigers to sea lions, meerkat and giraffes can be seen in their habitats.
