We simulated Wolves vs Manchester United to get a Premier League score prediction

Manchester United take on Wolves in the final match of their 2020/21 Premier League season on Sunday afternoon, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer likely to field a second-string team.

With United due to play in the Europa League final next week, Solskjaer could rest the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay and others, with Amad, Brandon Williams, Anthony Elanga, Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles, Axel Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly all hoping to feature against Wolves.

Phil Jones, Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial will all miss out due to injury, but Daniel James could return to the United squad on Sunday.

So, what team could Solskjaer go with against Wolves? And, what could the final score be?

To try and find out, we used FIFA 21 to get a score prediction, and this is what happened...

We used kick-off mode within FIFA 21 but didn't select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a prediction.

The AI difficulty was set to legendary, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.

We predict that United could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Henderson; Williams, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Telles; Matic, Van de Beek; Amad, Mata, Elanga; Greenwood.

We predict that Wolves could set up in a 3-4-1-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Patricio; Dendoncker, Coady, Saiss; Semedo, Neves, Moutinho, Marcal; Vitinha; Jose, Traore.

Despite fielding a second-string team, United still dominated this simulated game, with the away side going ahead just after the half-hour mark through Mason Greenwood.

Anthony Elanga supplied the young striker, who turned inside the area and produced a powerful effort that flew into the bottom corner.

Despite being on top, it took United until 11 minutes after the half-time break to double the scoring.

United midfielder Donny van de Beek received a pass from Juan Mata inside the area, before cutting inside and finishing well past Patricio in the Wolves net to make it 2-0.

Wolves did grab a goal back through Fabio Silva with five minutes to go, which looked to have set up a nervy finish.

But with seconds remaining, Juan Mata found the net on the break to restore United's two-goal lead, in what was a fairly straightforward win.
