We simulated Sheffield United vs Man City to get a score prediction

Manchester City secured an impressive Champions League victory against Marseille in midweek and return to Premier League action against Sheffield United on Saturday.

City remain without without Sergio Aguero while Gabriel Jesus is a doubt, with Raheem Sterling likely to fill in upfront against the Blades, flanked by Ferran Torres and Riyad Mahrez. With Benjamin Mendy also still injured, one of Joao Cancelo or Oleksandr Zinchenko will play at left-back.

At centre-back, Fernandinho is ruled out and there are doubts over the fitness of Nathan Ake, so first-choice pairing Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte are likely to start against Chris Wilder's side.

So, what team will Guardiola choose against United? And what will the final score be on Saturday? We used FIFA 21 to get a prediction...

Sheffield United vs City score predicted using FIFA 21

To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode within FIFA 21 but didn't select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself. The AI difficulty was set to legendary, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Sheffield United could set up in a 5-3-2 formation, with the line-up as follows: Ramsdale; Baldock, Basham, Egan, Stevens, Osborn; Lundstram, Ampadu, Berge; McBurnie, Brewster.

We predict that City could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with the line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Foden; Torres, Sterling, Mahrez.

In our FIFA 21 simulation, City were in superb form against Sheffield United, taking just seven minutes to open the scoring. After some nice passing and interplay around the United box, the ball came to Kevin De Bruyne, who lashed home from close range.

In the second-half, it was much the same story, with De Bruyne scoring his second of the game just eight minutes after the restart. Raheem Sterling lost his marker in the box before laying the ball to the Belgian midfielder, who volleyed home into the far corner.

Riyad Mahrez made it three just after the hour mark, with Raheem Sterling bagging a fourth 17 minutes from time, as City recorded a 4-0 win.
