We simulated RB Leipzig vs Manchester United to get a score prediction

Manchester United will progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League with a point against RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.

However, the German side must beat United to qualify for the knockout stages, so this is set to be a crucial game for both teams.

Strikers Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani will miss the game against Leipzig with minor muscle injuries, with Fred also suspended after his red card against PSG last time out. Mason Greenwood, Donny van de Beek and Paul Pogba are all likely to start at the RB Arena.

In what could be a boost to United's chances on Tuesday night, Leipzig's star player and key defender Dayot Upamecano is suspended for the clash against the Reds, with Marcel Halstenberg set to deputise at centre-back.

So, what lineup will Ole Gunnar Solskjaer go with on Tuesday against Leipzig? And, what will the final score be?

Ahead of the game, we used FIFA 21 to get a score prediction. This is what the game predicts.

RB Leipzig vs United score predicted using FIFA 21

To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode within FIFA 21 next gen, but didn't select a team to control. We then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a prediction.

The AI difficulty was set to world class, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.

We predict that RB Leipzig could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with the line-up as follows: Gulacsi; Mukiele, Konate, Halstenberg, Angelino; Sabitzer, Kampl; Olmo, Forsberg, Nkunku; Poulsen.

We had United could set up in a 4-3-1-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles; Van de Beek, McTominay, Pogba; Fernandes; Rashford, Greenwood.

With Upamecano not involved, United were causing RB Leipzig real problems in the first-half of our FIFA 21 simulation, with Donny van de Beek and Marcus Rashford having early chances.

But the first goal of the game eventually came in the 21st minute, with Bruno Fernandes crossing for Rashford, whose brilliant glancing header beat Gulacsi to make it 1-0.

United could have made it 2-0 just before half-time, with Fernandes unleashing a long-range effort from just outside the box, forcing a great save from Gulacsi.

In the second-half, Leipzig were much improved, having more possession but they weren't really creating any threatening chances.

That was until the 71st minute, when a free-kick from on loan Man City defender Angelino curled up and over the wall, with David De Gea having to produce an outstanding save to keep United in the lead.

Despite a late period of pressure from Leipzig, United won out in our FIFA 21 simulation, pretty comfortably in the end.

Predicted FIFA 21 score: RB Leipzig 0-1 United

Here are the full time stats.

In our FIFA 21 simulation, United had more possession and created a host of good chances, with Fernandes and Rashford combining to score the only goal of the game in the first-half, but De Gea's brilliant save certainly proved crucial.
