We simulated Olympiacos vs Tottenham to get a score prediction for the Champions League clash

Tottenham Hotspur play their first Champions League game of the season on Wednesday evening, as they take on Greek side Olympiacos in Group B, in a game they will be expected to win.

Spurs very nearly went all the way in this competition last season, eventually losing to fellow Premier League side Liverpool in the final, with Mohamed Salah scoring an early penalty and Divock Origi adding a late second.

Mauricio Pochettino could welcome Tanguy Ndombele back into the starting lineup against the Super League Greece outfit, with Dele Alli also in with a chance of starting on Wednesday evening.

So, what will the final score be?

And, what XI will Pochettino go for?

We used FIFA 19 to predict the outcome of Spurs' first Champions League fixture of the season.

Olympiacos vs Tottenham on FIFA 19

To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode but didn't select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a unique prediction.

The AI difficulty was set to world class, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions. Obviously, as we're still using FIFA 19 for the time being, the kits aren't updated, so please use your imagination!

We predict that Olympiacos will set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows; Sá; Koutris, Meriah, Cissé, Elabdellaoui; Camara, Guilherme; Houdani, Valbuena, Podence; El-Arabi.

We predict that Tottenham will set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with the line-up as follows: Lloris; Walker-Peters, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Ndombele, Winks, Alli; Lucas, Kane, Son.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

Tottenham started the game with real purpose, getting on the front foot from minute one and it paid off.

Just four minutes into the game, a cross from Kyle Walker-Peters found Son Heung-min in the area, who headed the ball down to Harry Kane, who then volleyed the ball expertly into the corner of the net.

A great goal.

Spurs were well on top and could have doubled their lead in the 18th minute, when a shot from Son was parried, the ball fell to Ndombele, who hit the post from a tight angle.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

The away side were dominant, but that second goal eluded them.

After half-time, the game followed much the same pattern, with Mauricio Pochettino's side controlling the game and creating chances.

The likes of Son, Dele Alli and Kane all had shots saved, as Spurs tried to kill the game.

However, Hugo Lloris was to save Spurs from a shock equaliser, jumping in front of El Arabi and saving expertly, before the striker could get to the ball.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

In the final stages, Tottenham settled for the 1-0, merely keeping possession and seeing the game out, in what was a great away performance in the Champions League.

Full-time score: Olympiacos 0-1 Tottenham

Here are the full-time match stats.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

Tottenham dominated the game in all areas, with Olympaicos having just two shots on target.

Harry Kane was Spurs' best player, scoring the only goal of the game and being at the centre of their attacking play.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

Jan Vertonghen was the lowest rated Spurs player, with a 7.1 rating, but only because he had little to do!

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

This FIFA 19 simulation predicts that Spurs will dominate against the Greek side on Wednesday evening, with Kane making the difference.
