We simulated Olympiacos vs Man City to get a score prediction

Manchester City can seal their place in the knockout phase of the Champions League on Wednesday.

City have a 100 per cent record in the competition this season and if they grab a win against Olympiacos at Karaiskakis Stadium, they will be guaranteed a place in the last 16.

Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker haven't travelled with the squad to Greece, with Bernardo Silva and Oleksandr Zinchenko set to deputise, whilst Nathan Ake has been ruled out through injury.

But Sergio Aguero, Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy have all travelled with the squad and could make their returns from injury against the Greek outfit.

So, what team will Pep Guardiola go with against Olympiacos? And, what will the final score be?

We used FIFA 21 to get a score prediction, this is what happened.

Olympiacos vs City score predicted using FIFA 21

To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode within FIFA 21 but didn't select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself. The AI difficulty was set to legendary, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Olympiacos could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with the line-up as follows: Sa; Rafinha, Semedo, Cisse, Holebas; M'Vila, Bouchalakis; Masouras, Fortounis, Randjelovic; Soudani.

We predict that City could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with the line-up as follows: Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Laporte, Zinchenko; Silva, Rodri, Foden; Sterling, Jesus, Mahrez.

The first-half saw City create a few good chances, but poor finishing from Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus meant that the away side went into the break with the scores level at 0-0.

However, the breakthrough for Pep Guardiola's side came just five minutes into the second-half, with Jesus setting up Raheem Sterling, who beat a defender before cutting inside and smashing a finish into the far corner.

Despite creating a few other half chances, City's finishing let them down, but due to the difference in quality between these two sides, one goal was enough to seal the win.

Predicted FIFA 21 score: Olympiacos 0-1 City

Here are the full-time match stats:

FIFA 21 predicts that City won't necessarily dominate possession against Olympiacos, but they will create the better chances throughout the game, albeit poor finishing sees them score just the one goal.

What do you think the score will be?

FIFA 21 is out now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Additionally, fans who jump into FIFA 21 can also benefit from Dual Entitlement, enabling them to upgrade their copy of the game from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S at no extra cost.

All progress made or content acquired within FIFA 21 Ultimate Team (including players, items, coins, FIFA Points, match record, and leaderboard placement), as well as all progression in VOLTA FOOTBALL will transfer over to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.
