We simulated Manchester United vs Wolves to get a score prediction

Manchester United eased past a struggling Burnley side on Thursday night, and will be hoping for another strong result against Wolves on Monday.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick admitted his side benefitted from playing players in the right positions against Burnley, as Edinson Cavani partnered with Cristiano Ronaldo in attack, supported by English duo Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood.

United remain unbeaten since their devastating 4-1 defeat to Watford back in November, with the Reds currently on an eight-game streak without a loss in all competitions. The Reds have managed to cope with the congested fixture list over the festive period, but Rangnick is expected to rotate his starting line-up once again for the match against Wolves.

So, what line-ups will both teams select? And, what could the final score be?

We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Manchester United v Wolves on Monday and this is what happened...

Manchester United v Wolves score predicted by simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn't select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Manchester United could set up in a 4-2-2-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo.

We predict that Wolves could set up in a 5-2-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Sa; Semedo, Kilman, Coady, Saiss, Marcal; Neves, Moutinho; Traore, Trincao, Jimenez.

United started strong under the lights at Old Trafford, and took the lead within the opening 15 minutes through a brilliant strike from Marcus Rashford.

Bruno Fernandes started the attack after Harry Maguire made a crucial block inside his own penalty box, before releasing the Portuguese playmaker down the right-wing.

Fernandes beat Marcal and cut inside before firing the ball into Rashford's feet, with the English attacker spinning past Neves and unleashing a rocket of a shot towards goal. The ball cannoned in off the underside of the crossbar to put United 1-0 up early on, leaving Jose Sa helpless and giving the hosts the perfect start.

Wolves responded with some dangerous opportunities to equalise, but David De Gea kept up his fine recent form with a number of top saves to keep the score at 1-0 heading into the second half.

United struggled to manage the game after the break, with Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez threatening on the counter-attack for the away side.

Ruben Neves struck the woodwork with a whipped free-kick on the hour mark, leaving United's Spanish 'keeper rooted to the spot as the ball spiralled behind for a goal kick.

United failed to create any more clear chances in the game but put in an impressive defensive performance, as well as riding their luck at times, and were able to hold on to take all three points and a clean sheet in a scrappy game at Old Trafford.
