We simulated Manchester United vs Aston Villa to get a score prediction

After resting the majority of their senior squad in midweek in the Europa League against Astana, a well rested Manchester United side face Aston Villa in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday.

There are set to be quite a few changes to the squad ahead of the home league clash, with players like Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, David De Gea and others all likely to return against Villa.

Ashley Young could also make a return to the team at left-back, with Juan Mata also pushing for a recall to the starting lineup.

So, what XI will Solskjaer go for against Villa?

And, what will the final score be?

We used FIFA 20 to simulate the outcome of Manchester United vs Aston Villa - just for a bit of fun.

Manchester United vs Aston Villa on FIFA 20

To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode within FIFA 20 but didn't select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a unique prediction.

The AI difficulty was set to world class, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.

We predict Manchester United could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with the line-up as follows: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Young; Fred, Mata, Pereira; Rashford, Martial, James.

We predict Aston Villa could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with the line-up as follows: Heaton; Guilbert, Konsa, Mings, Targett; McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Hourihane; El Ghazi, Wesley, Grealish.

United's team was fresh and full of movement in the opening stages, with the game starting at a really fast pace.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side opened the scoring in the 13th minute, as Marcus Rashford dribbled past a few Villla defenders on the left before cutting the ball back to Anthony Martial, who tapped home from close range.

A great start for United.

The home side continued to push forward but Villa's defence were holding firm, that was until just before half-time, when Martial got his second of the game.

Rashford was heavily involved once again, winning the ball high up the pitch and crossing into the Frenchman, who finished acrobatically to make it 2-0.

After half-time, Villa started to push forward a bit more in order to get back into the game, and did have a few chances, with Wesley and Jack Grealish having efforts on goal.

But United were always a threat and Martial well and truly killed the game off in the 67 minute, with the French striker making a brilliant near post run, before finishing with a nonchalant flick into the near post to get his hat-trick.

It was the Martial show!

And, that's how it finished.

Full-time score: Manchester United vs Aston Villa

Here are the full-time match stats.

United were well in control of the game, but Villa did offer a threat in the second-half.
