We simulated Manchester United vs Arsenal to get a score prediction

Manchester United are beginning to find their form and will have the chance to make it four consecutive wins this weekend, as they host Arsenal in the Premier League.

Jadon Sancho scored the only goal of the game as Man United beat Leicester City 1-0 on Thursday night, taking them to fifth in the table just three games since they were bottom. The win against the Foxes was also United's second consecutive clean sheet, with their new-look defence impressing again against the Foxes.

Next up for United is league leaders, Arsenal. The Gunners are yet to drop points this season, winning five games from five and will be a stern test for Erik ten Hag's side.

New signing Antony is expected to make the squad on Sunday, whilst fellow summer singing Casemiro could make his first start after coming off the bench in the last two games. Anthony Martial will miss out again through injury, as will Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

So, what will the score be on Sunday between United and Arsenal? And, what lineup will Ten Hag go with? We simulated the game to get a pre-match score prediction and this is what happened.

United vs Arsenal score predicted by simulation

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 22 and updated the squads with the latest transfers. Due to FIFA 22 not having the latest kits, both sides lined up in the kits from the 2021/22 season, while kit numbers for new transfers may also be incorrect.

We predict that United could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Dalot, Martinez, Varane, Malacia; Casemiro, McTominay; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo.

We then predict that the Gunners could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Sambi Lokonga, Xhaka, Odegaard; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.

Man United were the better side in the first half, controlling possession and causing problems for Arsenal. They couldn't find the opening goal, but new signing Antony came close in the second half when he was brought on for his debut.

After a misplaced pass from William Saliba, Antony latched onto the ball and charged toward goal. A big touch from the Brazilian saw Gabriel commit and lose out, sending the Brazilian through one-on-one.

Antony tried to curl it around Ramsdale, but the 'keeper made himself big and smothered the shot. But, United did take the lead from the resulting corner, with Kieran Tierney scoring an own goal.

A short corner to Antony saw the Brazilian skip past his marker and reach the edge of the box. The forward clipped a cross towards Casemiro at the far post, and his brave header was sent past Ramsdale via Tierney's shoulder.

With 15 minutes remaining, Arsenal introduced Emile Smith-Rowe and Fabio Vieira in an attempt to find an equaliser. The changes saw Arsenal take control, and the Gunners made it 1-1 with just under 10 minutes remaining.

It was the two substitutes that linked up for the goal, with Smith-Rowe the provider. The Englishman charged down the right before sending a cross towards the near post, and Vieira got between Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez to head past David De Gea.

It was poor defending from United, who allowed too much space in the box for Vieira. United couldn't find a response with such little time remaining and both sides settled for a 1-1 draw.
