We simulated Liverpool vs Tottenham to get a score prediction for Premier League clash

So, what will the final score be?

And, what XI will Pochettino go for?

We used FIFA 20 to predict the outcome of Spurs' trip to Anfield this weekend.

Liverpool vs Tottenham on FIFA 19

To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode within FIFA 20 but didn't select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a unique prediction.

The AI difficulty was set to world class, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Liverpool will set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson; Mane, Firmino, Salah.

We predict that Tottenham could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with the line-up as follows: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Winks, Sissoko; Alli, Son, Lamela; Kane.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

Liverpool had control of the game in the opening stages, with Spurs happy to sit back in order to absorb the pressure, hoping to be a threat on the counter-attack.

But, Kane looked isolated and both Alli and Son were struggling to hold up the ball, due to Liverpool's intense pressing.

It didn't take long for Liverpool's intensity to lead to their opening goal in the 17th minute.

Firmino robbed Sissoko just outside his own area and unleashed a rasping effort from range, with his shot hitting the bar, but Fabinho followed in with a diving header to open the score.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

For the rest of the half, Liverpool peppered the Spurs goal, with Mane, Henderson and Robertson all going close.

Spurs were being dominated, as the stats showed at half-time, but still only a goal down.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

In the second-half though, the game followed much the same pattern, with Mauricio Pochettino's side unable to get a real foothold in the game, such was the Reds intensity on and off the ball.

And they got it in the 69th minute, when Son Heung-min should have levelled the score for Spurs after a fantastic breakaway, but his shot was straight at Alisson.

In the final stages, Liverpool managed the game well, slowing the game down and not giving Pochettino's side any encouragement.

In the end, a narrow defeat for Spurs at Anfield.

Full-time score: Liverpool 1-0 Tottenham

Here are the full-time match stats.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

As you can see, the home side dominated all areas, with Spurs struggling to get into the game and only having a few chances.

Serge Aurier was Spurs' best player, keeping Mane quiet for the majority of the game.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

But, the same can't be said for Ben Davies, who had a torrid time up against Mohamed Salah.

(EA SPORTS FIFA)

So, there you go. This FIFA 20 simulation predicts that Spurs will taste defeat at Anfield this weekend, but only by a narrow scoreline, and they will get at least one big opportunity on the counter.

What do you think the score will be?

But, as the game went on, Spurs looked more and more dangerous on the break, and were hoping for one big chance.
