We simulated Hearts vs Rangers to get a score prediction as Alfredo Morelos steals the show

Rangers will look to continue their winning ways on Wedneday night when they face Hearts in the Scottish Premiership.

Two wins in two weeks against St. Johnstone in Rangers ' most recent outings have seen Michael Beale 's side continue their trophy defence in the Scottish Cup whilst also maintaining their nine point gap behind Celtic in the league standings. The Gers are yet to lose since Beale's arrival at the club, but Celtic haven't either in that same period as the large gap between the two sides remains.

Next up for the Light Blues is third-placed Hearts, with Rangers unbeaten in the league against the Jambos since 2017. The two teams have met once already this season where the Gers emerged 4-0 winners.

So, could Rangers continue their unbeaten run against Hearts on Wednesday? We used FIFA 23 to try and predict the score, and this is what happened.

Hearts vs Rangers score predicted by simulation

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the Rangers squad with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We expect that Rangers could set up in a 4-3-3formation, with their line-up as follows: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Barisic; Kamara, Lundstram, Tillman; Fashion, Morelos, Kent.

Rangers' predicted XI vs Hearts (EA SPORTS FIFA)

We predict that the hosts could set up in a 3-4-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Clark; Hill, Sibbick, Rowles; Smith, Grant, Snodgrass, Cochrane; Ginnelly, Shankland, McKay.

From the go, Rangers were on top at Tynecastle Park, with the hosts struggling to escape their own half as the Light Blues looked for a way through to goal. Erratic strikes from Ryan Kent and John Lundstram were the closest the Gers came in the first half as they struggled to find the target, but a moment of class just before the break saw Rangers take the lead.

Alfredo Morelos made it 1-0 to Rangers (EA SPORTS FIFA)

Glen Kamara found Morelos on the edge of his box with his back to goal, and the striker flicked the ball over his shoulder to beat his man before breaking towards goal. From a tight angle, Morelos struck a swerving effort at goal with the outside of his left foot, curling his shot around the 'keeper and in off the post.

Morelos then came close to second moments after the restart when he beat Zander Clark to a loose pass, but as he rounded the 'keeper the Colombian could only find the side netting. All the chances were coming through Morelos for Beale's side, and with 20 minutes to go, the striker got his and Rangers' second to confirm the three points.

On the shoulder of the last man, Morelos was able to latch on to a long ball forward from Ben Davies and go through one-on-one with the 'keeper. With defenders tracking back, the Colombian took his shot early, and his effort flew into the net for 2-0.
