We simulated Chelsea v Malmo to get a Champions League score prediction

Chelsea take on Malmo tonight at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League, with the Blues eager to get back on track in Group H after their recent 1-0 defeat to Juventus.

Reece James is likely to make his first start since picking up an ankle injury against Manchester City, having conducted the pre-match media press conferences on Tuesday afternoon.

Thomas Tuchel could select Kai Havertz for the game against Malmo, with the Blues boss admitting he still has trust and belief in the German playmaker to turn his form around.

Tuchel could freshen things up throughout the starting line-up, with the Swedish side having lost their opening two fixtures in Group H without scoring a single goal and conceding seven.

So, what line-up will Tuchel select? And, what could the final score be?

We used FIFA 22 to get a Champions League score prediction for Chelsea v Malmo and this is what happened ...

Chelsea v Malmo score predicted by FIFA 22 simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn't select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Chelsea could set up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Mendy; James, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Sarr, Alonso; Jorginho, Saul; Mount, Havertz, Lukaku.

We predict that Malmo could set up in a 3-5-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Dahlin; Moisander, Nielsen, Brorsson; Larsson, Innocent, Rakip, Christiansen, Berget; Colak, Birmancevic.

Chelsea started the game off well as they dominated possession and created some good opportunities in the opening 10 minutes of the game.

It only took until the 13th minute for the Blues to open the scoring against the Swedish outfit, with Mason Mount firing in his first Champions League goal of the season with a brilliant strike in off the crossbar.

Some slick build-up play between Jorginho and Havertz allowed the German to beat two players before drilling the ball central into Lukaku's feet.

Lukaku used his strength to hold off Moisander and roll the ball through to Mount who blasted the ball into the net off the woodwork, putting Chelsea 1-0 up early on.

Malmo reacted well after going a goal down, creating some chances of their own, but Edouard Mendy continued his fine form from the weekend into the Champions League as he pulled off some crucial saves to keep the score at 1-0.

As the Blues entered the second half with their lead intact, Tuchel opted to make some changes to try and extend the advantage further, with the introduction of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

These changes were unable to help Chelsea kill the game off, as Malmo defended brilliantly in the second half. But the visitors were unable to find an equaliser with the game ending 1-0 to the Blues.

It wasn't a convincing win for Chelsea, but a crucial one, as they moved onto six points in the group with the reverse fixture against Malmo up next in November.

FIFA 22 predicted final score: Chelsea 1-0 Malmo

FIFA 22 predicts that Chelsea will dominate the game in terms of possession and chances created, but Malmo would limit the Blues to just one goal scored on the night as Tuchel's side looked less than convincing.

Lukaku failed to get on the scoresheet yet again, which could force Tuchel's hand into changing up who starts in attack for the game against Norwich at the weekend.
