We simulated Burnley vs Tottenham to get a score prediction ahead of Premier League clash

Tottenham Hotspur face Burnley in their re-arranged Premier League fixture on Wednesday night, with Spurs looking to build on their impressive win against Man City last time out.

Harry Kane produced his best performance of the season so far as he scored twice against the team he was heavily linked with last summer, with his second goal of the game coming in the 95th minute to beat Man City side 3-2 at the Etihad. The original date for Spurs' trip to Burnley was November 28, 2021, but due to a snowstorm hitting Turf Moor, the game was postponed not long before kick-off because of the poor weather.

Dejan Kulusevski grabbed a goal and assist against City, and the Swedish winger is tipped to start again against the Clarets on Tuesday. Sergio Reguilon will remain absent after testing positive for Covid-19, whilst Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp are both likely to miss out through injury.

So, what line-ups will both teams select? And, what could the final score be?

We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Burnley vs Spurs on Tuesday and this is what happened...

Burnley vs Tottenham score predicted by simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn't select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Spurs could set up in a 3-4-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Royal, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Sessegnon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.

We predict that Burnley could set up in a 4-4-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Pope; Roberts, Collins, Mee, Pieters; Lennon, Cork, Brownhill, McNeil; Weghorst, Cornet.

Spurs took control of the game early on, with Harry Kane continuing his goalscoring form with a goal 10 minutes into the clash at Turf Moor.

After winning a free-kick 25 yards from goal, Heung-Min Son stepped up to the set-piece, but the winger was unfortunate to see his effort rattle the post.

As Nick Pope lunged across to try and save the free-kick, he was left out of goal, and Kane was quickest to react to the ball rebounding off the post, heading into an empty net. It got even better for Antonio Conte's side minutes later, with Son heading home for Spurs' second of the afternoon.

The goal was almost identical to the first, with Kane this time trying his luck from the corner of the box, but his powerful strike towards the near post ricocheted off the post and back into play.

Son was quickest to react, and the South Korean got ahead of the Burnley defenders and headed over the onrushing 'keeper into the net.

Burnley created a handful of chances themselves, and the hosts earned themselves a penalty when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg hacked down Aaron Lennon in the box.

Wout Weghorst missed a penalty and the score remained 2-0 to Spurs (EA SPORTS FIFA)

Wout Weghorst stepped up to take the spot-kick, and even with Hugo Lloris diving the wrong way, the Clarets were unable to score as the striker's effort smashed the crossbar.

Burnley were made to pay for their missed chances, and the game was put to bed with five minutes remaining as Kulusevski scored Spurs' third.

A quick counter-attack saw Kane threaded through on goal by Son, and unselfishly, the 28-year-old squared the ball to the Swede who stroked past Pope at the near post. Hojbjerg picked up a second yellow card in the last minute of normal time for a late challenge, but it didn't stop Spurs from claiming all three points.
