We simulated Arsenal vs Man United on FIFA 21 and it went very well for Mikel Arteta's side

Arsenal will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to seven matches when they lock horns with Manchester United at the emirates Stadium this teatime.

Having won just one of ten Premier League outings between mid-October and mid-December, the Gunners have transformed their fortunes in recent weeks, winning five of their last six in the league, keeping four clean-sheets in the process.

But whilst their last few outings have featured victories over Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion, this evening's showdown with the Red Devils is likely to offer a clearer picture of just where Arsenal are as a team right now, with United looking to challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for the title this season.

So, what line up will Arteta go with against United? And, what will the final score be?

Ahead of the game, we used FIFA 21 to get a score prediction, this is what happened

Arsenal vs Man United score predicted using FIFA 21

To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode within FIFA 21 but didn't select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a prediction.

The AI difficulty was set to world class, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.

We anticipated that Arsenal could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with the line-up as follows: Leno; Cedric, Holding, Luiz, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Pepe, Smith Rowe, Saka; Lacazette.

We predict that Manchester United will line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation as follows: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; Rashford, Fernandes, Pogba; Cavani.

Manchester United had a number of chances to open the scoring in the first-half of our FIFA 21 simulation, but a combination of good goalkeeping and poor finishing meant that they couldn't take advantage.

The best chance of the half fell to Edinson Cavani just before the half-hour mark, with Marcus Rashford cutting the ball back to the veteran striker, but Bernd Leno produced a great save from close range to deny him.

Paul Pogba, Rashford and Bruno Fernandes also had half chances to open the scoring, with Fernandes going particularly close from a long-range free kick, which was inches wide of the top corner.

United continued to dominate possession after the break, but Arsenal grew into the game gradually and started to create dangerous opportunities on the counter-attack, which is what led to the opening goal.

After another United attack had broken down, Thomas Partey found Alexandre Lacazette in the final third, who approached the United area far too easily.

By the time both Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire came across to close down the French striker, he had already unleashed a powerful effort, which hit the post on it's way into the far corner, leaving David De Gea stranded.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer introduced Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood in the final 15 minutes to try and rescue the game, but a strong defensive performance from the Gunners kept United at bay.
