We shouldn’t believe those new Charmander evolution rumors, right?

Destructoid, I am getting pretty sick and tired of these supposed rumors that keep creeping out of the woodwork when it comes to new Pokémon games. It feels like every day, something is 'leaking' regarding a new generation, with a new Charmander evolution rumor swirling around social media.

For those who haven't been keeping track of this supposed rumor, a new Gen 10 'leak' surfaced online late last week that claimed, among other things, that Charmander was getting a new Ground-type form. Since then, I haven't been able to go on Twitter or YouTube without seeing someone covering it as if it's legitimate news, to the point I had to write this article to get some stuff off my chest.

According to this supposed leak, the Charmander appears in games called Pokémon Gales & Tides and is a new regional form known as Gigaxis. Pokémon can change their types and forms, with Charmander using this supposed method. The new Charmander apparently has two tails and a bunch of other zany stuff that makes me question what's even real anymore.

Now, let's all be honest. Game Freak loves to milk Charmander and Charizard to the best of its ability. It's practically in every game or the first major Pokémon you can fight in raids, or what have you. As I eye Mega Charizard X and Y, Gigantamax Charizard, etc. So, do I doubt that Game Freak would look to do something new with Charmander in the next generation of games, considering its popularity and Game Freak's obsession with it?

Absolutely not.

It's more the convoluted method in which this new Charmander supposedly exists that is making my head spin. Not to mention the literally oceans worth of supposed leaks and rumors we get about each and every confirmed and non-Pokémon game over the years that social media eats up to stay relevant and gaslight its fans again and again. So while I doubt these new 'leaks' and evolution rumors are real, what do you think?

Let me know if you share my thoughts in the comments below, or have some copium all this could somehow be real.
