Ahhh… Paris, the city of love. But we’re not the only ones who think so.

The former England soccer captain David Beckham and his pop star-turned-fashion-designer wife, Victoria “Posh” Beckham – arguably the most famous couple in the world – spend their wedding anniversary every year at the luxury hotel, Le Bristol Paris, in the “City of Light”.

Le Bristol Paris was originally the home of Comte de Castellane, at 112 Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honore.

Hippolyte Jammet later acquired and renovated the property which is now a grand hotel.

The 190-room Le Bristol Paris is situated on the same street as luxury French fashion houses such as Hermès and Louis Vuitton.

The Beckhams reportedly stay at the hotel every year on their wedding anniversary.

This year they’ll be celebrating 20 years of marriage on July 4, 2019 (two lifetimes when you’re a celebrity).

We speculate that one of their stays will definitely be in the hotel’s Panoramic Suite, where the fantasy romance film Midnight in Paris was set as well.

The room

You begin approaching this suite through its own private foyer and up an elegant winding staircase leading up to the room.

We suspect this would become a makeshift waiting room and where the bodyguards will hang out.

For €12,250 (US$13,800) per night, the Panoramic Suite offers an exceptionally roomy 2,150 square feet (200 square metres) of space, which includes an adjoining room for the children.

There is a flowered terrace, a walk-in wardrobe and kitchenette for the use of an optional private chef to serve dinner inside the suite. Of course, anything is possible for the Beckhams.

Hotel breakfasts are something to look forward to when you go on holiday, but not all of them are created equal and the breakfast at Le Bristol sets the bar as high as the stratosphere.

The three-Michelin-starred Epicure restaurant at Le Bristol Paris

You get the choice to relax at the three-Michelin starred Epicure restaurant for your choice of eggs and all the trimmings, or you can have your tea with your pinkies up at Cafe Antonia.

A word of warning though: since Cafe Antonia is a tea salon, the tables are smaller and can get a bit crowded when you’re having breakfast there.

Otherwise, you can do like the Beckhams do, and get room service in your room or suite.

For a truly decadent experience, the hotel’s Michelin-starred 114 Faubourg restaurant offers an innovative and exquisite experience that takes dining to new heights.

The rooftop pool at Le Bristol Paris

The pool on the hotel roof, which simulates a cruise deck, is the best spot to drink in the panoramic views of Paris with the Church of Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis on one side and the Eiffel Tower on the other.

The pool isn’t large by any standard, but it is covered and heated so that it’s in use all the year round.

While Le Bristol Paris is a beacon of opulence, the staff are extremely friendly – the opposite of staff of stereotypical highbrow hotels portrayed in many films.

Le Bristol Paris also has its own resident Burmese cat, named Fa-Roan, who has free reign to roam the premises.

Staff are always quick to introduce this feline to delighted children visiting the hotel, and we are sure it is already familiar with the Beckham brood, too.
