We’re so back. Edgar Wright and Glen Powell did a DVD commentary for ‘The Running Man’ [EXCLUSIVE]

Edgar Wright is bringing fans a more faithful adaptation of Stephen King’s The Running Man. And while he’s bringing back King’s work, he’s also bringing back something exciting: The art of the DVD commentary.

There is one scene that really stuck with me. Not because it was one of the more emotional scenes (there are plenty of those). But the scene in question has both Glen Powell and Daniel Ezra in sleeveless shirts with both of their arms on display. Then, it cuts to Lee Pace sleeveless as well. The scene highlighted the strength of these men but was also a real moment of “holy arms” while watching the movie.

Which was, apparently, something that Wright also noticed. When I brought up the strength of Ben Richards to him, he shared his thoughts on that scene in question, and did give a little bit of exciting insight into the DVD release of The Running Man. “It’s funny, we did the commentary for the film the other day and it was actually Glen’s first DVD commentary,” Wright said.

“And I said something to him, which I didn’t say to him on set, there’s a scene with him and Daniel Ezra who plays Bradley. I said, ‘You guys were really having a gun off this day.’ Glen said, ‘Oh yeah, it was the gun show’ because Daniel is in incredible shape. And I think Glen came to sort of say it was like, whoa, I gotta do some pushups before I do this scene with Daniel Ezra. I mean, that’s definitely one for Arm fans everywhere. The scene with him and Bradley in both in their vests.”

Fitting that I found out about the commentary when talking about…arms. You can see our full chat below:

The Running Man is in theaters on November 14.
