'We're ready' - Bristol Rovers coach not ruling out any transfer business as deadline approaches

Joe Dunne says Bristol Rovers are ready to act in the transfer market should the opportunity arise.

The League One transfer window shuts on Monday, meaning time is running out for Rovers to add to their squad through signings and loan players - although they will still be able to sign free agents.

Rovers boss Graham Coughlan had previously said 'the harsh reality' is that he may not be able to sign anyone ahead of the deadline and, whilst assistant Dunne admits a lot of things will have to fall into place for the Gas to become active in the market, they are ready to act if need be.

He said: "The key thing to any kind of recruitment at any club is staff and communication between staff.

"We've got Tommy Widdrington, the manager, the experience we have in the staff and contacts.

"We're ready if the opportunity presents itself. A lot of things will have to fall into place for that to happen - we'll be ready.

"We have a structured list.

"When you get to this stage, things happen quickly in transfer windows - a player could be in or out overnight.

"Of course we want to keep hold of our best ones and, if we can and if the opportunity presents itself, we'll be ready.

"The gaffer is ready to go if anything presents itself."
