Manchester City fans were very pleased tonight after Liverpool gave them a late Christmas present.
Liverpool were defeated 1-0 by Leicester City on Tuesday night, with Ademola Lookman's goal putting a huge dent into Jurgen Klopp's men's title hopes.
They had plenty of chances to win the game themselves, with Mo Salah missing a penalty and failing to score the rebound as he hit the bar from close range, then Sadio Mane missed a one-on-one in the second-half with the game all square.
But Leicester went on to take all three points through Lookman's strike, with City now six points clear at the top of the table — and with the chance to extend it to nine points on Wednesday night against Brentford.
And the lead could extend further into the new year, with Liverpool to travel to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea, before losing Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita for two games as they travel to play in AFCON.

City themselves will face Arsenal in the New Year, before facing Chelsea themselves in January.
