We're gonna need a bigger pool! Staff at West Lothian visitor attraction keep animals cool during heatwave

The staff at the Almond Valley Heritage Centre have been keeping the animals cool with their own portable paddling pools.

But this very cute alpaca has been having a hard time squeezing in!

The attraction shared this hilarious picture on Facebook, which tickled many of its followers.

Staff have also been sharing tips on staying cool when visiting during the heatwave.

The centre took to Facebook to say “Not everyone has a portable paddling pool, and even if you do, they struggle to fit a whole family, or even a single alpaca in!

“So we have some tips for you to stay cool whilst visiting us!

“Make sure you wear sun tan lotion, sunglasses and caps when you are outside.”

“Drink plenty! We have chillers in the tearoom and reception full of cold drinks. The Sheppards hut is also open in the orchard picnic barn. We also have a drinking fountain at the hand wash station as you enter Charlesfield and water you can help yourself to in the tearoom.”

“Make use of the shade! We have 2 large picnic barns that are in the shade and usually very cool. You can eat your lunch inside them, or under the canopy outside the tearoom.

“Once you have eaten your lunch, make sure you have plenty of space left for a nice cold ice cream or ice lolly.

“Enjoy your time with us during the hot weather, but remember to stay cool and have fun!”
