We're aware it didn't meet expectations' - Elfingrove organisers reply to first night critics

Elfingrove organisers have responded to criticism from ticket-holders following the opening night of the festive-themed event.

Many visitors  were left disappointed with the night-time experience at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, with hundreds taking to social media to air their complaints.

Twitter users expressed their disappointment with the event, which has been billed as a Night at the Museum-inspired spectacle and tour, saying that it was a major disappointment and did not live up to trailers released ahead of its opening.

Many people compared Elfingrove to Fyre Festival - the now infamous failed music festival that took place in the Bahamas in 2017.

A number of punters are now demanding refunds for tickets, claiming they were misled over what to expect from the event.

Elfingrove organisers have now responded to the complaints and promised they are listening to feedback and will "evolve the show based on the feedback given".

A statement on social media read: "Last night we finally opened the doors to Elfingrove. On a particularly wet evening we were delighted to welcome just under 7,000 people.

"Our goal is to put on events that push the creative boundaries and, with Elfingrove, deliver a night at the museum event where the museum was brought to life and we revealed Santa's ancient secret.

"Overall, we've had great feedback on the experience but we are aware it didn't meet everyone's expectations. Our aim is to listen and evolve the show based on the feedback given."
