'We're a little bit wounded' - Noel Gallagher makes Man City admission ahead of Liverpool clash

Noel Gallagher has insisted that Sunday's top-of-the-table clash is a bigger game for Liverpool than Manchester City due to Pep Guardiola's injury problems.

The Premier League champions head to Anfield on Sunday without several key players.

A win for Liverpool would move them nine points clear of City in the Premier League title race after 12 matches.

However, Gallagher believes that a win for City's injury-ravished side could tip the balance in the title race.

The former Oasis man believes that if Liverpool don't win the league this season and take advantage of City's injury woes, then they may never win the title again.

Speaking to talkSPORT Gallagher said: "To be honest, I think it's a bigger game for Liverpool because if, as a team, we're kind of limping into this game. We've got four or five big players out, Sane, Rodri, Laporte, David Silva.

"I think if Liverpool don't win that game, they'd be a little more nervous about it. I think every City fan would take a draw now and come out unbeaten.

"In general, if Liverpool don't win it this season, they will never win it. We're a little bit wounded and we've won it twice in a row. If Liverpool don't win, some of their players might get tapped up by somebody else.

"Saying that, if Liverpool win, I think it's over. If we were nine points clear of them, I would be thinking they won't catch us."

Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson is another injury doubt for Guardiola.

He was subbed off at half-time during City's 1-1 Champions League draw with Atalanta in midweek and replaced by Claudio Bravo, who was later sent off, which saw Kyle Walker end the game in goal.

Whilst the suspension won't rule Bravo out from playing at Anfield if called upon, Gallagher admits it will be a huge psychological blow for City if Ederson is ruled unfit to play.

"Ederson just gives you so much confidence and as good as Bravo is, I thought he was a little unlucky the other night, I think if Klopp gets the team sheet and Ederson isn't on it, I think they'll charge Bravo down at every opportunity.

"We can go there and win but Liverpool are dynamite at the minute so it will be tough."
