More on Kevin O’Sullivan whose Sunday Mirror column has been axed. ITV News anchor Mark Austin, Ruth Langsford, Piers Morgan, Ally Ross, Matthew Wright and Les Dennis are among those who have sprung to O’Sullivan’s defence as the petition to reinstate him edges close to its target. Monkey has been told that his column is a casualty of cuts at Trinity Mirror and will make way for a TV gossip, preview and review spread. O’Sullivan, who has received tweets of support from many of his 33,000 Twitter followers, says he is “humbled” by the response. He was not on staff despite previously being the Daily Mirror’s senior features writer and a former showbiz boss. “Ten years is a long time to do a column,” he tells Monkey. “I’m going to miss it. If anyone needs a hard-hittingly hilarious columnist I’m available.”
