Sex comedies are sure-shot winners at the box office but Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hydari is not keen on doing adult comedy films in Bollywood as she finds them misogynistic.
“I can never do a sex comedy film in this country, as we don’t make the actual kind of adult or sex comedy movies. There is a difference between misogyny and comedy. I can’t be part of something that is misogynistic,” Aditi told PTI.
The 29-year-old actor’s The Legend of Michael Mishra alongside Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani hits theatres on Friday. This is her first out-and-out comedy film.
“In the film, none of the characters are trying to be funny, it’s just the situation that is funny. It’s just outlandish and Manish Jha (director) has created this world with crazy people but they are also real people, real emotions but the situations are strange that it becomes funny. For me, it was not really about comic timing, it was just about being true to the character that itself is funny,” she said.
“As you can imagine, it was very funny because there was never a dull moment. I anyways laugh easily and I love entertainment, I am a sucker for entertainment. So, it was really fun with them (Arshad and Boman) on sets,” Aditi said.
“They (Arshad and Boman) are also effortless actors, you don’t feel like they are acting. It’s nice to work with people who are very chilled and don’t take themselves too seriously,” she added.

“I think every artist is always striving to do more and better work. I am a person who is constantly pushing to do more and always want to better myself. It’s such a competitive field, but I don’t think about the other person.
“I get inspiration from other people who are amazing but I compete with myself. The competition is with myself to better myself. I love to be in front of the camera and I love to perform its really exciting for me,” she said.
