We Love the 90s in the Park festival coming to the North East with Five, East 17, Liberty X and more

If when it comes to music, you love nothing more than a good old throwback, an event is making its debut in the North East next year which should be right up your street.

It's time to face facts, the charts ain't what they used to be. Gone are the days when the top 40 countdown used to be exciting and you'd be able to help your favourite acts get to number 1 by...shock horror...actually buying a CD single or even a tape!

Well the clock will be turned back to a time before streaming in style next summer with a massive outdoor event in Darlington featuring pop favourites from yesteryear.

While it's called We Love 90s In The Park, the massive outdoor event actually features acts both from the 90s and 00s, with the lineup including Gareth Gates, Five, East 17, Liberty X and wait for it...The Cheeky Girls.

That means classic pop hits like Unchained Melody, Keep On Movin', House of Love, Just A Little and The Cheeky Song will be sounding out around South Park on Saturday, May 9 - hopefully while the sun shines!

The 7.5 hour pop spectacular will be hosted by Ryan Swain and also feature a number of DJs and a Robbie Williams support act.

Darlington is less than half an hour away on the train from Newcastle with trains on a regular basis.

Early bird tickets are available now online from Skiddle, priced from £22.
