'We'll need him in the Premier League' - Bristol City fans would reject £25m Brighton & Hove Albion bid for Adam Webster

The majority of Bristol City fans are seemingly unwilling to let defender Adam Webster leave for less than his £30m valuation.

Head coach Lee Johnson suddenly seems resigned to losing the player in the next eight days after his head was turned by offers from Premier League Brighton - the latest believed to be worth £20m plus add-ons.

The 24-year-old has spent just one season at Ashton Gate but has quickly grown to become one of the Robins ' key men, winning the club's Player of the Year award last term.

City named their price back in June when Aston Villa came in with a derisory offer of £12m.

However, despite the fact Brighton's latest offer is much, much closer to that lofty £30m price tag, our poll shows the vast majority of Robins fans would rather keep the centre-back with 61 per cent of people voting as such and 39 the other way.

Jason Thorne: Keep him we'll need him this time next year when where gearing up for our first game in the Prem.

Christopher Green: I would like him to stay but I would take the money. Kalas and Baker would still be a great partnership . And perhaps we might just might invest in a striker.

Simon Wilson: Keep him as they have not meet our valuation, simple.

Mark Small: One decent season. At that kind of money sell, sell, sell.

Ally Harding: Keep, if just for one more season, any changes now would surely be detrimental. Never been this concerned about a potential sale before, which is measure of the guys importance.

Tony Wilkins: Be gutted to lose him. But we cannot lose out on the money like that. Take Clarke as a add on too. Great CB.

Derek Hook:  Keep hold of him for at least another season or two. Only sell if City can get at least £30-£35million then would use some or most of that amount on a prolific striker[s]!

Andy Wareham: Sell because now his mind set and focus won't be playing for Bristol City... 100% commitment and no less to wear the red shirt.

Sue Cornes: Don't want to lose him but players come and go and money talks, we could get a decent striker and centre-back for that kind of money.

Carl Cowlin: Solid last year but over 20 million has to be taken. Only if it’s going back into the team though.
