'We have Tomori' - Chelsea fans fume as Blues linked to Arsenal transfer target John Stones

Chelsea have added and been linked to a vast array of attacking talent.

Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech have already been added to the Blues ' ranks, while supporters wait with baited breath for a breakthrough for Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen. However, the transfer many have been calling out for is for a new central defender.

Frank Lampard's debut season has been impressive in many respects, but his side's ability to keep the ball out as been one area of struggle. Chelsea have conceded 54 Premier League goals this season - 22 more than Liverpool and a figure you have to look at the bottom half of the table to find a similar effort.

Reports suggest the Stamford Bridge hierarchy are looking at Manchester City defender John Stones to help out.

The England international has made just 16 appearances in the league this season and appears to have fallen down the pecking order for Pep Guardiola's side.

The 26-year-old was signed for £47.5 million in 2016 but would struggle to command a similar fee despite the potential for a number of clubs to be interested.

Chelsea fans have been clear in their opinion over the transfer however, and they aren't impressed.

If Lampard and co were to make a move, they would likely have to compete with Arsenal for Stones' signature.

Mikel Arteta worked with the defender in his time at the Etihad and would appear to suit the Gunners' philosophy, while the north London side have had defensive problems of their own.
