Former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira has admitted that one day he would like to return as manager of the Gunners - and the fans are loving it.
The former midfielder spent nine years in north London after Arsene Wenger made the star one of his first signings at the club in 1996.
When asked by RMC whether he would like to manage either Arsenal or France in the future, Vieira was positive about both options.
"If it’s my dream to coach Arsenal or France? Yes, like any player, when we do this job we want to touch the very high level," Vieira stated.
"But the very high level I can touch with OGC Nice from the moment we give ourselves the means to succeed and from the moment the way which we work is quite consistent.
"But we do this job, and I do this job, to one day to be the coach of a team that participates in the Champions League."
Unai Emery has struggled to win over the Arsenal fan base after a fifth-place finish, and Vieira seems like he would certainly be a more popular choice in the dugout - but he does not have universal backing among Arsenal fans.
