“We have played together well for a majority of our career,’ says Celtics’ Jaylen Brown of criticism of his fit with Jayson Tatum

On the heels of the first triple-double of his career with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists that came in a 99 – 75 Boston Celtics home win against the New York Knicks this Saturday night, star wing Jaylen Brown spoke to the press about a growing trope of criticism that suggested he and fellow All-Star Jayson Tatum couldn’t play well together.

Given the 11 assists Brown managed to dime up his teammates with and the fact that neither he nor Tatum scored as much as they usually would in what was very nearly a shellacking of the Knicks, it would seem that such perspectives have a data point against them. “I disagree,” replied Brown when asked his thoughts on his fit with the Duke product. “I think we can play together.”
