'We have one of the best in the league at that' - Neal Ardley hails key skill of Notts County star

Neal Ardley has praised Notts County winger Enzio Boldewijn and believes the Dutchman is “one of the best in the league” at carrying the ball.

The former Crawley wideman had an excellent game in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Dagenham as the Magpies stretched their unbeaten run to four games.

The winger capped it off his display with an assist for Kristian Dennis’ fabulous strike late on after a typically strong run.

It did not go unnoticed by Magpies boss Ardley who feels Boldewijn is among the National League’s best.

“We’ve got threats all over the pitch,” he said.

“If you look at Enzio, he  carries the ball so well. I think we have one of the best players in the league at doing that.

“We’ve got Denno, Wes and Kyle Wootton who led the line excellently on Tuesday night.

“We’ve got good players.”

Notts will hope Boldewijn can inspire another solid team performance when they welcome Torquay United to Meadow Lane on Saturday with the Gulls in decent form.

They have won their last three games, but Notts know they can leapfrog their opponents and into the top seven for the first time this season with a victory.

Having lost just twice in their last 13 matches, Ardley feels his side have the qualities required to become a real force.

“I believe this group can achieve what it wants to achieve,” he said.

“The mentality is there, the effort is going to be there and we will just wait and see where it takes us after 46 games.”
