'We have lift off' Leeds United fans react as Pablo Hernandez shows his class in first-half at Bristol City

Leeds United went in 1-0 up at half-time in their season opening match at Bristol City with a familiar face stealing the show.

Marcelo Bielsa opted to leave high-profile summer signing Helder Costa on the bench, while Ben White was handed a debut in the centre of defence with Gaetano Berardi suspended.

After making a confident start and dominating possession, it was Pablo Hernandez who provided the moment of inspiration to put Leeds ahead.

Fresh from a sublime double nutmeg of Callum O'Dowda, the Spaniard received the ball on the edge of the box after some intricate play that followed a fine cross-field pass from Adam Forshaw to Jack Harrison.

Hernandez created some space for himself and fired the ball into the top corner to get Leeds' new campaign up and running.

Forshaw fired a shot just wide following a good counter from Harrison in the closing stages of the first-half as Leeds went in 1-0 up.

Here's how fans reacted to the Hernandez goal and first half at Ashton Gate...
