'We had a riot' - Ally McCoist recalls wild Rangers title parties & Andy Goram memory

Ally McCoist has revealed he was flooded with Rangers title memories as he watched Wrexham celebrate their National League tirumph.

The Welsh club - owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney - sealed promotion to the Football League with the title win in the Vanarama National League.

Wrexham's league win was followed by huge celebrations from players, staff, owners and fans. Reynolds even paid for whisky for supporters and players to fuel the joyous scenes.

While McCoist insists he was never bought vintage whisky for his title-winning exploits at Rangers, he was overcome with memories of his own wild celebrations at Ibrox.

The Ibrox hero won ten Scottish top flight titles at Rangers and admitted the celebrations could get out of hand, stating: "We had a riot, man."

On talkSPORT, McCoist reminisced: "I don't know about the expensive bottles of whiskey but we used to go back to Thornton Street back at the stadium and we had a riot, man. Those parties were sensational."

The pundit also recalled spending a whole night celebrating in his back garden with the late Andy Goram as the pair stayed out until sunrise.

"When I look back and think about some of the nights we had after we won the league...me and the Goalie, God rest him, we ended up at the bottom of my back garden at about 6 in the morning, just sitting drinking champagne after we won the league," he said.

"Happy days. When I was looking at the Wrexham boys and the scenes, you've got to love it.

"It brought back loads of memories, it was terrific. There's nothing better than seeing people enjoy themselves is there?"
