We found the 'jumbo jet' of breakfast rolls in Dublin

The humble breakfast roll is a classic and will always reign supreme in Irish people's hearts.

There is nothing that could cure the most savage of hangovers like the delicious combination of eggs, sausages, bacon, and pudding sandwiched together between two crusty pieces of bread after a late-night sesh. We have some exciting news for Dubliners as we may have found a contender for the best breakfast rolls in the capital.

Joe's Village Kitchen has been a long-standing favourite of Coolock locals. The restaurant has perfected the art of making what is described as the "jumbo jet of breakfast rolls".

Speaking to Dublin Live, owner Geraldine Boyne revealed the secret behind these mouth-watering breakfast rolls. "So what makes us the best breakfast? We’re a little bit different. We don’t use normal rolls, we don’t use normal pudding on the rolls. We have our own pudding made.

"It’s the ‘jumbo jet’ of breakfast rolls. You need scaffolding to carry it out."

She added: "It’s great for families and it’s great for special occasions and people on the rip and all. It’s a bit of craic and so they enjoy it."

These delicious breakfast rolls come with two bacon rashers, two sausages, an egg, and two white puddings for €5.50. The restaurant also does vegetarian options.

One super fan told Dublin Live he travels all the way from Drogheda for the breakfast rolls. John Rooney said: "We’ve been coming here donkey’s years. We moved out of Dublin to Drogheda and we still come down here for a breakfast roll.

"We come here as often as we can, at least twice a week. It’s absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it."

Joe's Village Kitchen is located at 19c, Main St, Malahide Rd, Kilmore, Dublin 5, D05 V180 and is open from 8am to 3pm from Wednesdays to Saturdays and 9am to 2pm on Sundays.
