We Finally Know When Kyle Sandilands Can Return To Radio After Multi-Million Dollar ARN Settlement

Kyle Sandilands has officially reached a settlement with his former employer ARN just over three months after his popular radio show was taken off air and his $100 million contract was terminated.

ARN, which owns the radio station KIIS FM, has agreed to pay the shock jock $12.9 million to settle the dispute before the Federal Court, with $3 million payable in July 2026 and the remaining balance paid monthly until June 2029.

Sandilands reportedly signed the legal agreement in his Vaucluse mansion around 6pm on Tuesday evening.

What does this mean for Kyle Sandilands’ future?

ARN released an ASX statement on Wednesday morning providing more details about the settlement, which avoided a high-profile and very costly trial examining one of Australia’s most lucrative talent deals.

The statement revealed that Sandilands is not allowed to work with ARN’s direct competitors until March 2027, which suggests he may make his anticipated return to radio after that date.

However, the statement also said Sandilands had “advised ARN that he intends to pursue independent media opportunities”, and the company will provide him with advertising services on ARN’s partner platforms of $1.5 million over the next three years.

“This agreement brings certainty for ARN and resolves the legal dispute,” ARN Chief Executive Officer Michael Stephenson said.

“ARN remains focused on executing its strategy, including driving a leaner, more efficient operating model, strengthening its core radio network and continuing to invest in digital capabilities and long-term growth.”

What about Jackie O Henderson’s court case?

Meanwhile, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s legal proceedings against the termination of her contract remain ongoing.

Henderson is seeking more than $82 million in damages from ARN, alleging the company tore up her contract and breached workplace obligations by effectively retaliating against her after she raised complaints about Sandilands.

Her legal team has also argued she was never offered a new program before ARN terminated her contract on March 3, despite the network previously telling the stock market otherwise. They further claim the company failed to step in during Sandilands’ on-air outburst on February 20.

Sandilands and Henderson presented The Kyle and Jackie O Show for more than 20 years and had each signed $100 million contracts in November 2023 to extend their tenure on KIIS FM until the end of 2034 before they were terminated.
