Most of Donald Trump‘s loudest supporters are in so deep they’re going to stick with him until the bitter end. But, with it becoming increasingly apparent that Trump is casually breaking all the promises he made throughout his 2024 campaign, the few left with a shred of self-respect are miserably admitting they’ve been conned.
Case in point: Breck “ThePatrioticBlonde” Worsham on X, a three-time Trump voter who worked on his presidential campaign. Worsham has concluded that she and her MAGA buddies are grasping at straws when they try to convince themselves there’s some reason Trump is failing:
Patriots, I have come to a conclusion.

Trump is not suddenly incompetent.
Trump is not simply misguided.
Trump is not just being too trusting of the wrong people.
Trump is not being poorly advised.
Trump was a psyop.
We fell for it.

“Trump is not suddenly incompetent. Trump is not simply misguided. Trump is not just being too trusting of the wrong people. Trump is not being poorly advised.”
Her final analysis is that Trump was a “psyop” all along and a backdoor way to usher in a “one world government”. Oof, you were so close, Worsham!
It would be wonderful if Trump were a psyop put together by secretive schemers planning to bring the world under the heel of a single government. After all, this would at least mean there are competent (if evil) people pulling the strings behind the scenes who have a firm vision for the future.
The reality is that there’s no shadowy and conspiratorial secret society putting together complex plots to unite the world as one. There are just boring men in suits with too much money and no morals, each intent on fattening themselves up with money squeezed from regular folks by any means. There’s no plan, just chaos and naked self-interest.
75% of the way there is still better than 0%
All that said, Worsham is least mostly right, which is more than we can say for the rest of MAGA. And, as the responses show, she’s both getting criticism for this from her former allies (“your an idiot”) while getting reluctant praise:
Agreed. Much respect for her. It’s hard to admit mistakes furthermore broadcast that you did and own up to it.

But Worsham is in a minority. Even as the economy collapses and Trump gleefully stabs his former supporters in the back, they’ll stick their heads in the sand and insist that, actually, everything’s fine. Here’s hoping we see increasing numbers brave enough to hold their hands up and admit that they were fooled by Trump’s lies.
