Jordan Pickford has opened up on Everton’s battle to avoid relegation and believes they have the opportunity to lay foundations for next season in their final games of the campaign.
The Blues currently find themselves two points above the Premier League drop zone with just three matches left to play. The first of which comes on Sunday at Goodison Park against Brentford. A visit of Crystal Palace follows before a final-day showdown at Arsenal.
Everton had looked doomed after slipping into the bottom three following a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield late last month. But since the loss to Jurgen Klopp’s side, Frank Lampard's side have taken seven points from a possible nine on offer.

After wins over Chelsea and Leicester City, the Blues were held to a goalless draw by Watford on Wednesday night. And Pickford has opened up on how his side are doing all they can to avoid being the team that gets the club relegated for the first time since 1951.
“It is a big job and it is a big role for all of us to be playing a part of. Picking these next results up is going to be crucial,” the Everton goalkeeper told Sky Sports.
“We don’t want to focus on that and we don’t want to be a part of that Everton team getting relegated, we want to be part of an Everton team being successful.
“This year hasn’t been great but when we come out of this we have got three games, Brentford on Sunday, so all focus is on Brentford and not about the game after.
“So we come out of it by working hard and having that commitment and winning games is something to look back on and build on for the next coming years.”
