We don’t know how many stitches Cris Cyborg got after UFC 240 (looks like a lot)

For all the mauling Cris Cyborg has done in the cage, it’s kind of amazing she’s never sustained a serious cut.

Of course, that’s probably the point. Most of her opponents haven’t gotten the chance to damage because they’re too busy trying to survive.

There was something different about Felicia Spencer, who put up a gutsy effort and managed to leave Cyborg with a lasting reminder of their fight last Saturday at UFC 240.

Check it out in all of its gruesome glory. Cyborg asks us to guess how many stitches she got as the result of Spencer’s elbow. We’re just going to guess “a lot.”

For an even grosser look at what a cut like that looks like up close, we invite you to watch Cyborg’s behind-the-scenes look at UFC 240. The backstage doctor so kindly pries open the wound to show us just how big it really is. Thanks, doc.

Cool souvenirs aside, Cyborg is back in the win column after a quick knockout loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 232. A decision victory saw her land 122 significant strikes to Spencer’s 38, a strike differential of 84.

When it comes to cuts, though, it only takes one shot to leave a mark.

Cyborg is now hunting for a new deal and a rematch. She’s clearing up any miscommunications with her boss, UFC president Dana White. Things are looking up for a rematch, at least for now.

Cyborg didn’t need any help looking even more intimidating. But a new battle scar certainly does the trick.
