Vice president-elect Kamala Harris has shared the moment she spoke to her running mate Joe Biden about their US election victory.
Ms Harris - who will be the first female, black, and Indian-American vice president - tweeted a video of herself which was shared over 450,000 times with 1.5 million likes in less than an hour.
The footage shows the Democrat on the phone to Mr Biden after their campaign topped the 270 electoral college votes needed for victory over Donald Trump.
“We did it. We did it, Joe,” a beaming Ms Harris tells Mr Biden.
“You’re going to be the next president of the United States.”
Ms Harris’s husband Doug Emhoff shared a picture of the couple hugging after the historic result, tweeting: “So proud of you.”
Ms Harris also tweeted: “This election is about so much more than @JoeBiden or me.
“It’s about the soul of America and our willingness to fight for it. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Let’s get started.”
President-elect Joe Biden posted: “America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country.
“The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not.
“I will keep the faith that you have placed in me.”
Former US First Lady Michelle Obama tweeted: “I’m beyond thrilled that my friend @JoeBiden and our first Black and Indian-American woman Vice President, @KamalaHarris, are headed to restore some dignity, competence, and heart at the White House.
“Our country sorely needs it.”
