'We could be in for a long night' - Arsenal fans react to Unai Emery's surprise team selection

Unai Emery has decided against bringing Mesut Ozil to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United this evening and has left Kieran Tierney on bench.

This is the fourth successive game the German has missed despite the Arsenal boss stating he had improved in training over the past two-three weeks.

"This year started difficult for him," Emery said in his pre-match press conference last Thursday.

"He worked well in pre-season and he was playing in the games. But then the problem he had along with Sead stopped him.

"But in the last two to three weeks he's improved with us in training and I think it's good.  I didn't close the possibility for him to play. Because I want him to be OK and ready with being available for training and giving us a good feeling every day. Then he can play."

Emery on Lacazette's return to training

On Thursday, Emery declared Kieran Tierney "ready to play" but he will have to wait longer for his Premier League debut.

The Scot has impressed in his performances so far for Arsenal which came in the Europa League and Carabao Cup respectively.

Elsewhere, Alexandre Lacazette returns to the fold, coming back from a niggling ankle injury which has kept him out since the North London Derby on September 1.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang starts at striker and if he scores tonight, will become the sixth fastest player to reach 50 goals for Arsenal.
