We checked if Tesco's cans and wine have been hit with inflation since the January price hike - and the answer is clear

The price of alcohol in Ireland increased overnight on January 4 as a result of minimum unit pricing, sending the price of cheap booze soaring.

A few months ago the cheapest bottle of wine cost less than €5 but is around the €7 mark.

However, since then, inflation has affected the cost of many daily purchases so we hit the shelves to find out if it has also had an effect on the price of beer and wine.

The Irish Mirror went shopping in Tesco today to find out if the cheapest alcohol being sold there has also been hit with inflation four months after the January price hike.
