'We can toughen up our rules in a heartbeat': WA Premier says hard border could still be used in future

After reopening to NSW and Victoria, WA Premier Mark McGowan says he can close the borders again "instantaneously" if he has to.

Here is a summary of what happened on Monday:

  • Rudy Giuliani tested positive for coronavirus
  • There were zero new cases in Victoria
  • There were three new cases in Queensland, all in hotel quarantine
  • There were no new locally-acquired cases in NSW, four in overseas travellers
  • There were no new cases in South Australia
  • NSW residents, Victorians free to enter WA from midnight
  • South Australians can travel into WA from December 11 — but they have to quarantine
  • Queensland border will open to all of South Australia from December 12
