Everyone loves a selection box, especially when it's Cadbury.
We set out to buy the same medium size box from nine different stores to see what the difference is in price.
In short, the difference was huge - 60% in fact - from the cheapest to the most expensive.
It wasn't until we got home that we also realised not all medium packs are the same and most importantly, there's a difference in what chocolate and how much chocolate you get inside.
Most retailers are selling the traditional box of six items - five bars and a bag of Buttons - amounting to 145g altogether.
While a few are selling the Dairy Milk Freddo & Friends box, including eight items - seven bars and a bag of Buttons - which might sound more, but at 135g is actually a little bit less of the good stuff.
Of course the weight isn't the only thing that differs - the cost alters dramatically, from £1.25 up to £2 - a staggering 60% increase.
Here's where we bought the six-item box and how much each retailer charged
- Morrisons £1.25
- B&M £1.50
- Quality Save £1.50
- Home Bargains £1.50
- Heron £1.69
- Sainsbury's £2
- Iceland £2 (or two for £3)
With the Freddo & Friends one, we picked up two of those, but even then there was a stark difference in price - with Asda selling it for £1.25 and Tesco £2.
The benefit of having a Tesco Clubcard comes into play here though, as with one of those, it brings the cost to just a quid - cheaper than any other retailer.

- Chomp
- Treatsize Buttons

- Treatsize Curly Wurly
If anything it shows that it's well worth shopping around to get those festive bargains this year, especially if you've got a lot of people to buy for.
