We asked for you to choose the North East's precious pet - and you've decided

This year's Precious Pets winner was the adorable Lhasa Apso Alfie, who won a £1,000 cheque for his owner Louise, of Crawcrook.

Coupons were printed daily in the Chronicle and when the votes came in, the eight-month old pup was victorious.

In second place was Bruno the Bulldog.

Third place went to Tansy.

Both second and third place dogs won a £250 cheque for their owners.

Louise was absolutely delighted and said: "He's very laid-back and chilled out.

"He's very sociable with other dogs too and always gets on his hind legs and bounces up and down when he sees them!

"He absolutely loves playing with his toys as well!."
